The weeks and months following the birth of a baby are a time of incredible transformation in a family. This is true of experienced and new parents alike. In this time there can be so much joy, but also incredible challenges both in the shifting of family structure, changing roles and identities, healing from the physical aspects of pregnancy and birth, and the incredible responsibility of caring for a small baby. Support and information during this time can be a deciding factor in determining the quality of life for the whole family, and personalized health care to ensure your and your baby’s well-being.

There are many ways that new families can be supported at this time. One incredibly helpful one is the support of in-home midwifery dyad care for the birther and baby.

These in-home postpartum midwifery care sessions include:

  • Parent education on newborn care and safety, feeding, output, and wellbeing

  • Client education on optimal recovery from childbirth

  • Physical examination of the newborn and postpartum parent with referral to physician’s care for any abnormalities

  • breast pump authorization

  • referrals as indicated for holistic care

  • compassionate support for your tender new family

These visits are 60-90 mins and happen in the comfort of your own home.
